Joining
You're closer than you think.
There's no application form and no test. The simplest way in is to join the Discord, come along to a Saturday, and see whether it suits you.
Who we’re looking for
We don’t ask for a CV or any experience. We do hope for a few things — everything to do with the actual soldiering, we can teach.
- Empathy
- You think a little about the people around you and how you come across.
- Humility
- You're happy to be taught, and to be wrong sometimes.
- A bit of maturity
- We've no minimum age — we just ask that you're considerate and reliable, judged on how you treat people.
What you’ll need
Arma 3 on PC and a working microphone — most of the game is talking to each other. Our modpack, which you can get from the site in a few clicks (under 60 GB), and we’ll help if you get stuck.
Ideally you can make most Saturdays. If you can’t, a reserve role lets you come along when you’re able — you’re still one of us.
The steps
- 1
Join the Discord and say hello. A real person will reply.
- 2
Come and meet people at a midweek session, or just have a chat. No commitment yet.
- 3
Come to a Saturday as a guest, and see how it feels.
- 4
If you'd like to stay we'll sign you up properly and get you into a section.
A few common questions
- Do I need experience?
- No. Most people don't have any when they join.
- How much time does it take?
- Usually one Saturday evening a week. Reserves do less.
- Does it cost anything?
- No — just Arma 3 and the free modpack.
- I'm fairly quiet.
- That's completely fine, and fairly common at first.
- Can I watch before deciding?
- Yes — come to a Saturday as a guest.
